Qualifications
- Associate degree Interior Design or design-based preferred.
- 1-year relevant work experience.
- Experience working with visual merchandising or interior design in a retail environment.
- Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Enthusiastic about assignments and working with others in a team.
- Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50lbs and walking frequently.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, requires open availability Monday- Sunday. Location: 4643 East Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032. Benefits Eligible: Yes. Pay rate: $19.57-27.83.
Responsibilities
Our goal is to become accessible to more Americans by bringing IKEA closer to our customers physically and digitally. Our new Customer Meeting Points (CMPs) are compact locations offering a customer pickup hub, a furniture showroom with design services, and a home furnishing accessories market hall along with the opportunity to enjoy a Swedish bite.
- Apply home furnishing expertise to ensure they consistently reflect and strengthen IKEA across all functional media, including room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas.
- Maintain awareness of the Showroom matrix to ensure a diverse mix of styles, living situations, and price levels that create a dynamic visual tempo and distinct impressions.
- Leverage visual merchandising expertise to enhance the distinctiveness of the IKEA identity through impactful store layout, compelling range presentations, and vibrant in-store vitality.
- Drive business growth by executing the store action plan and collaborating across functions for long-term success.
- Apply local insights to create inspiring, affordable presentations that reflect diverse styles and exceed expectations.
- Prioritize visitor experience by minimizing disruption, maintaining safety, and ensuring strong visual impact while working on the shop floor.
- Follow established routines and responsibilities, collaborate across functions, act swiftly to seize commercial opportunities, and stay mindful of how actions influence financial outcomes.
- Ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-consciousness in range presentations by applying US-adapted guidelines, global tools, and best practices.
- Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is strong and embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.
