About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Social Video Strategy, YouTube and TikTok, to elevate Audible’s brand through culture-forward content, platform-first storytelling, and a laser focus on audience growth and engagement, with a specific focus on YouTube and TikTok and cross-pollination on Instagram Reels and Facebook. You’ll lead the vision for creating meaningful, high-impact social video experiences that drive channel discovery, fan obsession, and sustained performance across social video platforms, translating into business impact aligned with priority areas. Collaborating cross-functionally, you’ll be the go-to social video expert, partnering with creative and other marketing teams to ensure high-quality, brand-aligned content. This role is about owning the full funnel of success and turning casual scrollers into loyal brand advocates. It’s an opportunity to leverage your passion for video content creation and social media strategy to elevate Audible’s digital presence and connect our stories with new audiences.

About You

If you’re a driven, innovative content creator with a proven track record of growing audiences and engagement on social video platforms, this could be the perfect role for you. You’re a natural storyteller with an innate understanding of how to produce thumb-stopping social content that resonates with diverse communities. You have a strong creative vision and collaborative spirit that enables you to inspire your team and partners across the business. You are a digital creative strategist who focuses on audience behavior, creator ecosystems and content formats that perform. You’ve managed channels with 6-7 figure followings – or built them from scratch – and know what it takes to gain traction. You understand virality mechanics, engagement levers beyond views, and how to turn data into creative action. Bonus if you have led creator campaigns (or are a creator yourself) with measurable results. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, building consensus, and leading teams toward bold creative strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an insights-driven social video strategy to grow Audible's audience and engagement on YouTube and TikTok, with a mandate to grow new audiences and deliver standout engagement across brand, creator, and franchise content
  • Architect and implement a high-performing editorial calendar balancing experimental formats with consistent programming to retain fans
  • Define and deliver platform-native content that drives subscriber growth, view velocity, watch time and engagement benchmarks
  • Develop, produce and oversee end-to-end production of high-performing social video content (short-form and long-form) from ideation to post-production, focusing on discoverability, fandom and brand love
  • Identify and activate cultural moments, creator collaborations and viral opportunities to expand reach
  • Analyze video performance and platform trends to optimize future content and drive business impact with KPIs around growth, engagement and retention
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, creative, brand, and other teams to align social video with broader business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date on latest social video trends and identify opportunities to differentiate Audible’s approach

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media or relevant field
  • 7+ years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital strategy on YouTube and TikTok at scale for a brand, media company, or creator-led organization
  • Experience growing audiences and increasing engagement across social video platforms
  • Experience leading end-to-end content creation workflows and video production, including managing video shoots and post-production

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Superior communication and collaboration skills, with ability to influence across teams
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, balancing creative vision with organizational needs
  • Creator mindset or hands-on creative experience (e.g., directing, editing, scripting, on-camera work, producing) with strong understanding of platform-native content
  • Deep fluency in internet and platform culture, fan ecosystems and emerging formats; track record of driving business impact through social video
  • Sound judgment and ability to thrive in fast-moving environments
  • Experience scaling global social content strategies across markets and teams
  • Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and data analytics tools
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with digital content trends
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
