Key job responsibilities
Develop ML models for various recommendation & search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods
Work closely with other scientists, engineers and product managers to expand the depth of our product insights with data, create a variety of experiments to determine high-impact projects to include in planning roadmaps
Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field
Publish your research findings in top conferences and journals
What you’ll do as a day in the life
We’re using advanced approaches such as foundation models to connect information about our videos and customers from a variety of information sources. You will help acquire and process data sets at a scale that few companies can match, enabling us to recommend titles effectively even with limited behavioral signals (addressing cold-start problems) and to surface niche interests for customers. You’ll be a research leader and hands-on ML practitioner, guiding teams of engineers, scientists, and leaders in Prime Video, with opportunities to publish your research internally and externally.
Basic Qualifications
PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
1+ years of building models for business application experience
Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Unix/Linux
Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
