Overview | The State of Wisconsin is looking for 10 (ten) Certified Microsoft .NET Web Developer III’s. Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation is allowed. This position is needed for the development and support of critical priority applications in the Divisions of Unemployment Insurance. The project will include application design and development, new development and modifications to existing code. 10 roles are part of the new modernization project at DWD and are split into two groups (5 in the benefits system and 5 in the tax system). All candidates submitted with inconsistencies or falsifications in their credentials will be disqualified and DOA Purchasing will be notified. Responsibilities • Design, create, and maintain web services and system integrations • Develop web applications and participate in Agile Scrum development methodology • Contribute to testing through test review and analysis • Work independently to plan and accomplish goals with a broad degree of creativity and latitude • Support critical priority applications for the Divisions of Unemployment Insurance Required Skills & Experience 3 years' experience with .NET Core 8+ 5 years' experience with WCF - Windows Communication Foundation 3 years' experience with Oracle Hardware/Software .NET Core 8+ C# GitHub Jira Swagger Blazor framework Oracle Db2 Preferred Skills 3 years' experience with Web Accessibility coding 3 years' experience with C#/Blazor Previous work experience in government, insurance, accounting, or case management systems Interview Process Interviews will be conducted IN PERSON in Madison. Duration & Work Arrangement Duration of the Contract: 06/30/2026 with potential for extension Onsite or Remote: DWD is currently allowing remote work from within the state of Wisconsin. The contractor must be available online, present to meet workload requirements, and attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7:45 am – 4:30 pm Central Time. DWD can modify this arrangement with reasonable advance notice. The selected hire should reside in the greater Madison area and may be required to work onsite at DWD Madison WI headquarters GEF-1 upon request, including extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking.
