The Director - Creative Services & UX Design reports to the Head of Marketing and serves a key function in the integrated marketing team supporting Verisign. This position develops the strategy and directs a team in the creation of a variety of creative design, UX, testing, and optimization programs and projects that deliver highly effective websites, products, marketing materials, and tools. This role is also responsible for developing and enhancing branding as well as print and other creative projects for the entire organization. The Director oversees, researches, evaluates, and implements continuous improvement using the latest methodologies in user-centered design, testing, and optimization to ensure optimal user experience across all of Verisign's websites, landing pages, and other web properties, as well as Verisign products and tools. Responsibilities: Develops and implements a cohesive design and website strategy and sets direction for UX, design, branding, creative, and visual elements Sets design standards and leads the effort to create and maintain design systems Creates efficient design processes and oversees and collaborates with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to execute for both Global Marketing, Product, and other business units and internal teams within the organization Champions and evangelizes a user-centered design strategy, methodology, and execution at all levels of the company, including the ELT level, to develop Verisign’s end-user experiences and to optimize Verisign’s effectiveness of websites, landing pages, products, and tools Oversees user research to inform data-driven design strategies and solutions Hires, manages, coaches, mentors, and develops a team of design, UX, research, and optimization professionals Nurtures a culture of collaboration, innovation, design excellence, and continuous improvement Assigns work, drives execution, and cross-trains and develops talent Directs research, testing & optimization programs to ensure product enhancement and website design decisions are being driven by data, and to create transparency for stakeholders Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 12+ years of managing projects in a digital environment including working with UX and graphic designers, managing creative projects, and assisting the intake of tasks, planning the execution of projects, and facilitating the delivery and handoff of design artifacts 4+ years' experience managing a creative team Advanced responsive design for the web and motion design Expert UX design process, website, and digital projects Advanced user of Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop and Illustrator Ability to manage multiple tasks and fast-paced projects in parallel (balancing projects with long lead times with ones that have quick turnaround times) Highly collaborative, with strong communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent organization skills Ability to say ‘no’ diplomatically, while building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and partners This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work environment.
