Epicenter NYC, a community journalism organization based in Queens, is seeking a part-time Digital Producer to help steer our growing newsroom into its next stage. The ideal candidate will bring editorial judgment and creativity to oversee the production of our flagship newsletter, keep our website current, create short-form video, and manage our social media and video platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production of weekly newsletters, ensuring sharp writing, editing, and visual presentation.
• Manage website publishing and updates to maintain a dynamic, reader-friendly presence.
• Oversee and guide social media strategy to increase reach and engagement.
• Manage and produce short-form videos including explainers, recaps and other Epicenter-related content.
• Publish across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X.
• Collaborate with editorial staff on workflow, deadlines, and story packaging.
• Experiment with growth tactics and digital tools to expand readership and impact.

Qualifications

• Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Experience with Wordpress, newsletter platforms, CMS tools, and social channels.
• Experience with editing, producing and publishing videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube (video and shorts).
• Ability to balance creativity with organizational and workflow management.
• Interest in growth “hacks” and strategies that build audience loyalty.
• Interest (and some experience) using generative AI for optimizing workflows and content production.
