Job Summary
Generate revenue through the sales of Commercial Lines Property and Casualty insurance products. Sales-focused position requiring advanced communication skills and a thorough knowledge of insurance products. Capable of pursuing and closing sales for new and existing Commercial lines accounts. Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Handle incoming sales calls, walk-ins, referral, website quote requests for small accounts.
- House Account- provides compete/accurate client info and signed applications/New Bus-set up in AMS
- Market to various carriers after receiving complete/accurate client info and applications including supplemental application as necessary, we are only as good as the information provided.
- Answering general and specific questions the insured may have. If we don’t know answers right away let client know we will get back with them to research the correct answer.
- Attempt to stay on top of company underwriting guidelines, as these are constantly changing.
- Provide certificate of insurance when requested in a timely manner.
- Obtain Loss Runs
- Provide payment options when available.
- Prepare Proposals
- Obtain payments.
- Attach Documents to AMS and all insurance correspondences between client and agent.
- Bind Request to Company/MGA
- Mail/email Apps/docs to company/MGA when required.
- Suspense account for binders, review for accuracy, send to client.
- Claims- help insured get in touch with carrier for reporting or report directly to carrier yourself, attach claim acknowledgments in AMS.
- Process cancellations/reinstatements and mail/email to client and attach to accounts.
- Process non-renewals and look for alternate coverages.
- Process endorsements and mail/email to clients if not directly mailed to them from carrier.
- Process Audits
- Respond to Underwriting requests for additional information or updated information.
- Request, review MVRs for acceptability, advise insured, attach to AMS.
- Rewrites-Do Not rewrite accounts if they have had multiple payment issues and cancellations.
- Agency Bill- Collect premium, Invoice policies.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
- Solid personal character, including strong work ethic, great attitude, and willingness to assist others
- Proficient computer skills, as well as excellent multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Manage and service current clients, as well as add new customers to the personal lines book
- Work with a support team to maximize day to day activities and workflow
- Make sure all quality, service, and productivity standards are met
- Maintain and direct the client policy process
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 1-3 years’ sales experience in insurance or industry related field required
- Active 2-20 License is required
Physical Demands
- Must be able work with a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily either standing or sitting
- Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
- Must be able to effectively communicate in e-mail, by phone, or in person during the course of the workday.
