Job Description Looking for a CAD Designer in Anaheim, CA—metal fabrication company. Great opportunity! Direct hire. Responsibilities and Duties: Create sheet metal flat patterns using Pro-Engineer, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD. Verify accuracy of flat patterns using manual calculations. Create Engineering Change Orders, submittals, and GA drawings. Work closely with fabrication contractors. Design and redesign new and existing air moving equipment utilized in chemical, petrochemical, power, wastewater treatment plants, heating and cooling, power generation, mining, marine applications, and other industrial fields. Use AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create design layouts, drawing detailing, and assembly drawings. Prepare layout and manufacturing detailed prints using SolidWorks. Retrofit old and new equipment, including competitors’ models, as long as it meets customer needs. Develop and update designs for special build products. Prepare customer assembly drawings. Generate 2D and 3D sales drawings and submittal data. Develop customer sales drawings and models for approvals. Review returned approval drawings and implement necessary changes. Perform VA/VE activities to optimize design, improve manufacturability, and reduce costs. Create bills of materials for new orders. Generate machine layout drawings and files. Assist production personnel with drawing or fit-up issues.
