Job Summary Mazzetti’s Lighting Design Studio is seeking a Lighting Designer who is eager to learn and grow while contributing to innovative projects. In this role, you’ll support the team with lighting calculations, energy analysis, drawings, specifications, renderings, and presentation materials, while gaining exposure to sustainable design and LEED efforts. You’ll collaborate with other disciplines, assist with project coordination, and have opportunities to learn through limited construction-phase support. This role is ideal for someone motivated, detail-oriented, and excited to build a strong foundation in lighting design with mentorship and support from experienced team members. Your Tasks Will Involve Assisting with lighting design, including calculations and energy analysis Preparing project lighting drawings and specifications Creating renderings and presentation materials Coordinating work within the Mazzetti team and with other disciplines Supporting sustainability and LEED efforts across projects Effectively managing your tasks, deadlines, and deliverables Contributing to a diverse range of projects, including healthcare, hospitality, civic, commercial, and residential designs Implementing sustainable lighting design in all projects Work Location This hybrid/remote role is ideally based in Atlanta, GA, or the Southeast U.S., with occasional in-person participation in professional development and team-building events. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel of 5% or less. Requirements Expertise And Abilities You Will Contribute Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design, or related field 2-8 years of experience in the lighting design industry 2+ years of experience with Revit, CAD, and/or other BIM program drafting/drawing production experience 2+ years of experience in photometric modeling using AGI32, LightStanza, and Dialux (or similar). Passionate about innovative and creating lighting design Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and highly organized, self-starter and independent work ethic Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design Preferred: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Familiarity with daylighting analysis tools such as Rhino-Grasshopper or Lightstanza Ability to obtain membership in a professional lighting design organization (e.g., IES or IALD) You Will Thrive In This Role If You Communicate clearly and work well with teammates, asking questions and contributing to a collaborative project environment. Compensation: The typical salary range for a Lighting Designer in the Atlanta, GA area or in other locations in the Southeast U.S is $55,000-$85,000. We are committed to equitable pay and will evaluate final compensation based on relevant experience and skills in alignment with internal equity and market data.
