Overview Booking Producer - Breaking News, MSNBC at MSNBC
MSNBC is looking for motivated producers who are ready to thrive in breaking news situations and grow their careers by flexing multiple production skills. The team covers breaking news overnight, produces taped packages for Morning Joe when there is no breaking news, and creates best-of highlights from primetime for weekend playback. The team also contributes to growing MSNBC’s digital presence and supports line programming.
Key Responsibilities Booking live guests during breaking news coverage when MSNBC is in tape
Checking in and communicating with guests during breaking news coverage
Contributing to the control room as needed to assist the production team
Booking guests for original news packages for Morning Joe
Assisting the social media team in monitoring and creating social media content
Qualifications Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must have at least 5 years of experience in live television, preferably cable news, including researching information and tracking down guests
Desired Qualifications Sound journalistic and news judgment, political experience and strong writing skills
Strong Rolodex
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented; able to work under pressure in breaking news environments and meet multiple deadlines
Team players who are self-starters and can troubleshoot logistical issues
Creative thinkers who bring new ideas to news stories

Benefits & Other Information This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000. As part of our selection process, external candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview.
