Position is full time, Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Media Relations:
Work with Director of Communications and PR and PR agency to support ongoing media relations efforts and initiatives
Write and/or edit press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, pitches, by-line posts and blog, etc.
Staff interviews with Caron experts and reporters
Update and organize messaging/prep documents for Caron Subject Matter Experts
Research and develop story ideas and topics as requested
Vet incoming calls from media as assigned
2. Thought Leadership/Content Development
Provide ongoing support for thought leadership initiatives including conducting research, developing talking points and creating PowerPoint presentations
Manage and develop content for all channels, as needed, including video production and writing/editing blogs, bylines and white papers
3. Internal Corporate Communications
Optimize communications strategies and tactics to enhance an internal culture of corporate awareness, transparency and engagement at every organizational level and for all constituents
Work with the Communications/Public Relations Team to develop and communicate internal messages through a variety of communication mediums/channels (i.e. Sharepoint, emails, blogs, social media, video, newsletters and on-campus events)
Support Caron leaders cross-functionally with aligned messaging and materials that facilitate and maintain a successful, consistent corporate message and voice across all current and potential communications
Provide content for Caron’s internal communications channels
4. External Corporate Communications
Create, manage, and execute e-communications plans to engage various constituents that support organizational goals and drive ROI.
Manage the design and execution of email marketing campaigns from content development to layout, testing, deployment, and reporting of identified email marketing campaigns.
5. Work with Development, Clinical and Business Development teams to engage stakeholders and assist with event management as needed
6. Back-up, support and work collaboratively with the Director of Communications and Public Relations as well as other members of the Marketing team
7. Support PR Department with miscellaneous administrative responsibilities, such as maintaining DocuSign releases for projects and library of video/print clips; updating editorial calendars, alumni grid, and media tracker, etc.
8. Create contact reports, as appropriate, for interviews with alumni and meetings with agencies and internal constituents
9. Circulate media updates to internal distribution list

Education / Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
5-7 years of internal communications, including social media, experience
At least 5 years of experience with email marketing platforms
At least 1-year agency experience preferred
If in recovery, 1 years of continuous sobriety preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Superior communications skills, both verbal and oral
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills – knowledge of rules of grammar & composition
Organized and effective multi-tasker
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments
Strong interpersonal skills with a team-first attitude required – must be able to interview alumni and families about sensitive topics
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of media relations
Familiarity with non-traditional media
Familiarity with media monitoring tools
Experience with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in work capacity, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
