Job Description: Communication Specialist – Maternity leave The Communication Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development of habitat-based mapping in supporting EU strategies. The role involves creating a policy-brief to demonstrate the application of habitat-based mapping and supporting the mapping service and model requirements by scientists and science stakeholders. End of May 2026 – Policy-brief to demonstrate the application of habitat-based mapping in supporting EU strategies (e.g., Biodiversity Strategy, Nature Restoration Law). Responsibilities Mapping user requirements, including the development of a catalogue of services already available in LifeWatch ERIC or research lines addressing ecological responses to climate change. Supporting the creation of a shared repository of guidance documents, tools, templates, and data resources accessible to WG members and broader communities. Organising WG workshops and conferences, including setting priority research lines and contributions to the BEeS 2025 LifeWatch Conference. Fund raising, including establishing a WG Committee on scouting project application opportunities and fundraising. Requirements Experience in communication and project management. Knowledge of EU strategies, such as Biodiversity Strategy and Nature Restoration Law. Ability to work with scientists and science stakeholders to support the mapping service and model requirements.
