ATI is seeking a Die Designer to join our facility in Cudahy, WI. The successful candidate will prepare tool designs and layouts for tools, dies, machinery, and equipment related to the chip-less forming of metals. Responsibilities include reviewing and investigating tools, dies, machinery, and equipment issues, defining process, forge, and heat treat dimensions, and working under general supervision.
Design layouts involving stress analysis, metallurgical characteristics, and mechanics.
Apply knowledge of material strength, fabrication, physics, dynamics, and mathematics.
Determine appropriate tools and materials for processing.
Generate product drawings, including parts and assembled tools.
Prepare bills of material, specifications, sketches, and technical documentation.
Review projects and investigate issues with machinery, tools, and equipment.
Recommend redesigns, repairs, or rebuilds to meet requirements.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other departments.
Perform mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Maintain records and prepare reports related to tool design and machinery.
Supervise and instruct work of other designers and drafters as needed.
Generate digital reference points and tool paths for programming or modeling.
We encourage entry-level and candidates pursuing an Associate degree to apply.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 2 years of manufacturing, forging, or machining experience
At least 1 year of CAD experience
GED or Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering
