Overview CACI is currently looking for a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior-level UI/UX Developer with Agile methodology experience to join our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative 2.1 (ITI2.1) team in Northern Virginia. Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the ITI2.1 Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Officers and Border Patrol agents are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. Responsibilities Rapidly prototype and develop user interface features for the ITI2.1 front-end application platform. Rapidly prototype and develop user interface features for dashboard reporting and monitoring system. Employ participatory design, creative brainstorming and other techniques to collaborate with software developers, systems engineers and other product team members as part of an agile software development team. Ensure applications are meeting the customer IT Accessibility Standards. Map workflows, user paths, create storyboards, wireframes, mockups, low and high-fidelity prototypes and write UI specifications to support development across multiple applications and platforms. Design graphic elements such as icons and visuals as necessary. Evaluate designs using user-centric design techniques such as UI reviews and cognitive walk-throughs. Maintain awareness of current trends in technology design and usability, and share this information across multiple teams. Participate in working groups and/or meetings with application stakeholders to discuss user requirements and/or present wireframes and mockups. Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation (e.g., 3-year felony check, 1-year checks for illegal drug use and misconduct such as theft or fraud). Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of experience in UI/UX design, UX strategy, and usability research and testing. Experience in wireframing and key page development in UI/UX design and knowing crucial steps for creating/visualizing the product interface elements. Solid knowledge of prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, etc.) and workflow tools (Omnigraffle, Visio). Experience with web design using Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium, Sublime Text, Atom, etc. Strong problem-solving abilities, with an out-of-the-box mindset to provide concise and practical solutions to complex problems. 3–5 years of demonstrable experience in user interface design and development. Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to learn new technologies and the domain space quickly and present ideas in a team setting. Willingness to innovate and initiate discussions about new ideas. Team-oriented, positive attitude, energetic, delivery-focused, with keen attention to quality and detail. Experience through a feature’s full lifecycle from inception to production. Experience delivering code with modern JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS, Angular, or React, and supporting modern JavaScript code. Experience delivering products that work across a range of browsers and platforms. Experience using modern CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap to deliver responsive, mobile-aware products. Understanding of 508 Accessibility standards; experience delivering and meeting them preferred. Excellent understanding of the website development lifecycle (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation). Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience with Lean, Agile, DevOps tools such as Atlassian Confluence, JIRA. Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA. Bonus Advanced degree in MIS or Computer Science preferred. Experience in Objective C, Flash/ActionScript/Flex, HTML, Ajax/DHTML, VB, XAML, SVG, etc. Client-Server development experience. Cloud application Restful API experience. Pay Range There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
