Join to apply for the Designer/Drafter role at Avery Weigh-Tronix 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Designer/Drafter role at Avery Weigh-Tronix Job Description Responsible for assisting the engineering staff in the mechanical design and development of new product or by modifying existing product by utilizing the CAD system, implementing solid drafting standards and practices with minimal input from the project engineer. What You Will Do Prepare detailed layouts, parts, assemblies and BOMs with minimal input from the project engineer. Demonstrate a solid knowledge of drafting standards and practices and bill of material composition. Demonstrate an understanding of departmental processes and procedures, including the use of Autodesk Vault and the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Show ability through on-the-job experience, to identify and locate data sources necessary to complete projects. Possess a good knowledge of company design standards and product line. Demonstrate a solid knowledge base with automated design (Autocad 2D/ Inventor 3D). Demonstrate good communication skills necessary for conveying information to co-workers. Demonstrate ability to work well with teams. Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrate a willingness to put forth whatever reasonable amount of effort is necessary to complete projects in a timely manner. Upon completing an analysis of the features list of a new product design, the incumbent will develop detailed layout, parts lists, assemblies and bills of materials that will support the requested features list. This will be accomplished using independent judgment, personal discretion and past experience developed in part from previous projects with a minimal level of input from the project engineer. Works directly with the sales group to customize current product offerings, helps to determine customer requirements and to handle the engineering of product specifications or blueprints, bills of material and parts list assemblies.
