About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Music Licensing and Strategy to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the company's music and licensing strategy, driving growth and innovation in this space. This role is pivotal in expanding and executing the company's music strategy, building and maintaining critical relationships with music industry partners, and ensuring efficient music operations. The VP will lead a team of music professionals, serve as a key business advisor to the executive leadership team, and collaborate with various internal teams to support cross-company growth initiatives. A strong background in music licensing negotiation, team leadership, and a deep understanding of U.S. music licensing structures and digital models are essential. Applicants for the Vice President, Music Licensing and Strategy position at the company should have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field, with a JD strongly preferred. A minimum of 12 years' experience in music licensing negotiation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in building and leading cross-functional teams, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in the music industry, particularly with emerging music technologies and data licensing practices, is a plus. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, capable of contributing to the company's growth and success.
