We are a non‑profit art school seeking highly experienced teachers to deliver our engaging curricula to students of all ages at our Long Island locations in Manhasset, Woodbury, and Port Jefferson. During the summer (End of June to End of August) we need teachers Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. In September, additional needs will include evenings and weekends. Please let us know which days and hours would work for you, and how many hours or weeks you are available; we hope you can stay with us in September and beyond.

Base Pay Range

$20.00‑$35.00 per hour (based on skill and experience). Discuss the exact rate with your recruiter.

About the Role

As an Experienced Art Teacher in Long Island, you will shape the artistic abilities and creative expression of students across various age groups. Your primary goal is to deliver engaging and contemporary art curricula that inspire students to explore their creativity while mastering essential artistic techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching art.
  • Familiarity with painting, sculpture, mixed media, and other art mediums.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Art Education or a related field.
  • Experience with digital art tools and technology integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver comprehensive art lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Assess and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to support artistic development.
  • Organize and participate in art exhibitions and community events to showcase student artwork.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects.

Skills

The required skills for this position include strong artistic abilities, deep understanding of art techniques, effective communication, classroom management, and collaboration. Preferred skills, such as proficiency in digital art tools, enable innovative instruction.
