The Artist plays a key role in bringing a game’s visual world to life. This position is responsible for creating original high-quality 2D and 3D art assets, including user interface elements, concept designs, textures, icons, and marketing materials that align with the game’s visual style and creative vision. Exercising independent creative judgment while working closely with designers, animators, and engineers, the Artist ensures that every visual element enhances gameplay, storytelling, and overall player experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets, including icons, UI components, textures, in-game graphics, and promotional artwork.
  • Collaborate with game designers and art directors to translate creative direction into engaging visual content.
  • Create concept art to support new characters, environments, and props.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all assets while maintaining the integrity of the game’s style guide.
  • Prepare final assets optimized for game engines and different platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Participate in art reviews and provide feedback to maintain artistic quality and technical performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with developers, animators, and UX/UI designers to ensure that visuals function seamlessly in-game.
  • Contribute creative ideas for visual storytelling, branding, and user experience improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, software updates, and artistic techniques relevant to gaming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Game Art, or a related field and 3+ years of professional graphic design or game art experience OR 5+ years of professional graphic design or game art experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Experience with 3D modeling or texturing software (Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, or equivalent) a plus.
  • Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine asset pipelines preferred.
  • Strong sense of color, composition, lighting, and typography.
  • Ability to adapt to different artistic styles.
  • Portfolio of past work highlighting modern aesthetics and commercially viable content for the social media and video game space.
  • Excellent eye for detail and visual storytelling.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Time-management and organizational skills for fast-paced production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing visuals for live game updates, marketing campaigns, or cinematic sequences.
  • Knowledge of animation principles and motion graphics.
  • Passion for gaming, visual design, and emerging interactive media.
  • Interest in mobile games and their trends.

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $105,000.00 to $110,000.02 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At the L.A.
