The Dr Pepper Museum Creative Services Manager is responsible for the creative direction, production, and visual identity of the Museum. This position leads the development of print, digital, retail, exhibit, and branded materials that serve the Museum’s mission, programs, and audience of over 260,000 annual visitors.
This is an in-person role based at the Museum's downtown Waco location. The Creative Services Manager is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Director of Marketing and Development. This position qualifies for benefits and is exempt from overtime pay.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide creative leadership and hands-on design support for Museum-wide projects, including marketing materials, donor communications, digital content, retail packaging, exhibit graphics, and internal signage
Ensure brand consistency across all visual touchpoints, maintaining high-quality standards and alignment with Museum identity
Collaborate with marketing, retail, visitor experience, education, and development departments to prioritize and manage a high volume of design projects
Develop visual assets that support fundraising, sponsorship recognition, and storytelling
Design signage and graphics for exhibits, events, experiences, and retail
Create and maintain brand guidelines for internal and external use
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CREATIVE & DESIGN MANAGEMENT Manage and execute a range of design projects from concept to delivery, including advertisements, signage, packaging, merchandise art, newsletters, annual report, and social media graphics
Maintain an organized digital asset library, including vector art, product mockups, and exhibit files
Develop unique identities and graphic packages for annual events such as Birthday Bash, 10-2-4 Day, Collectors Convention, and Dr Pepper Christmas
Create original branding for the 10-2-4 Club membership program and design visuals for emerging programs and campaigns
Redesign and maintain branded collateral for the Museum Store and Soda Fountain, including product tags, drink menus, and merchandise displays
EXHIBIT & ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN Design exhibit graphics, wall wraps, temporary signage, and large-scale visual installations
Oversee directional and informational signage across all buildings, including outdoor clings and AMBC wayfinding
Provide timely and mission-aligned designs for rotating exhibits, pop-ups, and donor recognitions
Create vector and original artwork for Museum Store merchandise
Assist with product photography and packaging design
Develop graphics for seasonal products, gift sets, and special edition items
INTERNAL & DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT Produce graphics for donor and sponsor materials, thank-you notes, banners, and fundraising appeals
Create consistent internal signage and branded templates for staff use
Assist with print production and vendor coordination for specialty materials
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain high standards of visual quality and timeliness
Provide creative support for Museum initiatives, including education, outreach, and employee recognition
Stay current with design trends, tools, and museum industry best practices
Other design and operational duties as assigned
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, and 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably in an in-house or nonprofit
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines across departments
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, branding, and print/digital design
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Understanding of design for print production, signage, packaging, and merchandise
Ability to adapt visual styles across different formats and audiences
Initiative to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
Availability to work evenings and weekends for events as needed
EMPLOYMENT SCREENING AND COMPLIANCE Valid Texas Driver’s License & clear driving record required
Must be able to pass a national criminal background check
Employee must comply with all operational policies, especially those involving the safety of fellow workers, volunteers, and clients/customers
Employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance to perform work duties if position requires activities that require travel by motor vehicle, whether personal or a company car
ENVIRONMENTAL WORK CONDITIONS Required to work in a museum setting with over 260,000 visitors yearly
Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with occasional evenings and weekends. Weekend and holiday availability is required
Must conform to DPM and Health Code Standards as to dress and grooming, work rules, and safety procedures
Must be able to lift and transport design materials and signage up to 25 lbs
Must be able to occasionally work outside in extreme temperatures consistent with Central Texas climate

USE OF EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS Creative Services Manager will regularly use Mac or PC computers, printers, cameras, scanners, laminators, software applications, and standard office equipment
Will work with signage materials, product samples, printed proofs, and packaging mockups
FUNCTIONAL WORK CHARACTERISTICS Must be detail-oriented with a strong aesthetic sense
Ability to manage overlapping deadlines and communicate project timelines effectively
Ability to take initiative, respond to feedback, and work both independently and collaboratively

Salary Range: 56,000 – 66,000/year
