What you’ll do Design and develop mechanical components for avionics LRUs, including enclosures, mounting systems, and thermal management solutions. Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical designs with electronic systems. Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate designs under various environmental conditions. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD). Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting of LRUs. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of designs. Required Qualifications B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years experience in mechanical design of avionics Siemens NX proficiency Familiarity with FEA tools Excellent communication and team skills Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications 5+ years experience Thermal analysis proficiency PLM experience EMI/EMC familiarity Active Top secret DoD clearance Unmanned Air Vehicle design experience US Salary Range $120,000 — $213,000 USD Benefits and compensation The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
