Sales Associate -- Rare Book Gallery

Bauman Rare Books specializes in fine antiquarian books and historical documents spanning the 15th through 21st centuries. We are known for our scholarly expertise, the exceptional quality of our inventory, and our personalized service. For over fifty years, we’ve cultivated collections for private collectors, museums, and academic institutions.

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable, articulate, and motivated Sales Associate to join our Las Vegas gallery team for the holiday season.

About the Role

This is a dynamic sales position in a luxury retail environment focused on rare and antiquarian books. The successful candidate will engage directly with clients from around the world, helping to curate and build rare book collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and personalized attention on the gallery floor
• Study and communicate historical, bibliographic, and market information
• Assist clients in developing and maintaining private collections
• Correspond professionally with clients by phone, email, and in person
• Meet sales goals in a fast-paced, results-driven retail environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a liberal arts focus
• Confident knowledge and interest in literature, history, and rare books (though previous rare book experience is not required)
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong writing and research abilities
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to multitask
• Comfortable with negotiation and high-value transactions

Additional Requirements

• Availability to work a majority of weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must be comfortable working in a gallery that is open 365 days a year, 10 AM – 8 PM
