Global luxury womenswear and streetwear brand, Naked Wardrobe, is seeking a talented and innovative Knitwear Design / Technical Designer to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing unique knitwear collections that align with current fashion trends and our brand identity. Your ability to merge creativity with technical expertise will be essential in producing high-quality, stylish knit garments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and create original knitwear designs for seasonal collections, including sweaters, cardigans, and accessories
  • Research and analyze current trends in the fashion industry, incorporating insights into design concepts and material selection
  • Develop technical specifications for knitwear products, including stitch patterns, yarn choices, and construction methods
  • Collaborate with the product development team to create prototypes, ensuring designs are feasible for production
  • Oversee the sampling process, providing guidance on fit, materials, and finishing details to achieve the desired aesthetic
  • Communicate effectively with yarn suppliers and manufacturers regarding yarn sourcing, color selection, and production timelines
  • Stay informed about new knitting techniques, technologies, and sustainable practices to enhance product offerings
  • Participate in fittings and provide constructive feedback to improve product designs and quality

Experience / Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in knitwear design or a similar role within the fashion industry
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs
  • Strong design technical knowledge, with the ability to create accurate initial development specs and BOMs
  • Knowledge and experience using the PML system
  • Strong understanding of knitting techniques, garment construction, and textile properties
  • Creative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into marketable designs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfort working under tight timelines and in a fast-paced creative environment
