Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, support, and secure enterprise network and access technologies. This role is responsible for delivering robust, scalable, and secure networking solutions, serving as a subject matter expert across routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, and cloud networking.

A strong emphasis is placed on automation and scripting using Python and Ansible to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and enhance network agility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical expert in enterprise networking and network security technologies.
• Design and maintain infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, application delivery controllers (Client), web application firewalls (WAF), proxies, and unified threat management (UTM) systems.
• Develop and implement network automation and orchestration solutions using Python and Ansible, streamlining configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Manage escalated network incidents (Tier 3) and problem resolution, including root cause analysis and solution engineering.
• Establish and maintain network performance baselines, monitoring thresholds, and alerting/response procedures.
• Maintain and optimize network monitoring tools and systems; build dashboards and reports to support operational visibility.
• Document network architectures, operational procedures, standards, and build documentation to support knowledge sharing and reduce incident escalations.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure solutions align with Information Security policies and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS).
• Support enterprise networking across diverse environments including branch offices, data centers, retail locations, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Provide technical leadership for projects, including solution design, documentation, and implementation planning.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be available for critical incident response as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking, including support across geographically distributed environments.
• Proven experience with network automation and scripting using Python and Ansible (required).
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and data center switching.
• Experience with firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Fortinet preferred), SD-WAN (Cisco/Viptela, Meraki, etc.), and load balancing technologies (F5, Citrix, etc.).
• Strong familiarity with cloud networking and security tools, including WAF, CASB, and secure web gateways.
• Experience with network performance monitoring and tools such as Datadog, SolarWinds, or similar.
• Solid understanding of network security best practices and compliance standards (PCI-DSS experience preferred).
• Technical certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, AWS, Security+).

• Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, SAFe, Scrum, or Lean.
