Assistant/Associate Professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders / Speech-Language Pathology

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is searching for one or more Assistant/Associate Professors specializing in Communication Sciences and Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research and seeking external funding, and engaging in university and professional service. Opportunities for direct clinical service and clinical supervision may also be available.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned doctoral degree in speech-language pathology or related area.
  • Ideal candidates will be eligible for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence and North Carolina licensure.

About the Department

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences includes fully accredited graduate programs in Athletic Training and Speech-Language Pathology, a new graduate program in Occupational Therapy, an undergraduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and minors in American Sign Language and Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The department is home to the Charles and Geneva S. Scott Scottish Rite Communication Disorders Clinic, which provides speech, language, hearing, and pediatric occupational therapy services as an outreach to the community and as a primary site for student clinical training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, both face-to-face and online.
  • Conducting research and seeking external funding.
  • Engaging in university and professional service.
