Temporary Athletics Graphic Designer
The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Athletics Department is seeking a highly motivated and creative Graphic Designer to support the visual identity, branding, and storytelling of men’s and women’s basketball programs and revenue‑generating initiatives.
This role plays a critical part in elevating UNCW Athletics’ brand, driving fan engagement, and supporting ticket sales, fundraising, sponsorships, and other revenue‑generating platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Branding
- Design high‑quality graphics, templates, and layouts that align with UNCW Athletics brand identity.
- Support creative needs for revenue‑generation areas including ticketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and sponsorship activations.
- Deliver content that connects with diverse audiences – prospects, students, alumni, fans, donors, and corporate partners.
- Digital & Social Media Content
- Produce graphics, motion graphics, and digital assets optimized for platforms including Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and UNCW Athletics’ official website.
- Assist with in‑game graphics, promotional content, and special campaign launches.
- Print & Marketing Collateral
- Create promotional materials such as posters, flyers, brochures, and advertisements to support game‑day attendance, special events, and development opportunities.
- Work on revenue‑related campaigns including ticket brochures, donor materials, and sponsorship deliverables.
- Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with marketing, communications, video, and ticketing teams to align visuals with storytelling and revenue goals.
- Maintain consistency of the Seahawk brand across all creative outputs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects preferred).
- Knowledge of social media trends, digital platforms, and creative content strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with motion graphics, video editing, and photography.
- Understanding of NCAA compliance as it relates to creative content.
Special Instructions to Applicants
Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31‑day break from employment.
