In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is setting out to become the indispensable source of information for the world's most influential business leaders.
Bloomberg is expanding its audio offerings and looking for a podcast producer to work on a weekly chat show about all things business. The producer will work on Everybody’s Business in collaboration with the podcast team and alongside reporters and editors in Bloomberg’s wider newsroom. They will work under the guidance of a Supervising Producer. This role will be project based, and there will be opportunity to work across other shows in the Bloomberg Podcast portfolio. This opening is for a producer with at least 5 years of experience on news-driven, conversational podcasts.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch segment and guest ideas
  • Book, pre-interview guests and prep questions for hosts
  • Produce studio interviews and vox pop recordings
  • Quickly cut interviews and assist with assembling the show
  • Attend weekly show meetings
  • Find and pull news clips when relevant
  • Assist in creating show and episode descriptions and other digital assets
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 5+ years experience in podcasting and/or radio broadcasting
  • A knowledge of talk podcasts and business news
  • Ability to edit audio on deadline in Descript, Adobe Audition, and Google Docs
  • Experience using recording equipment both in and out of the studio
  • Strong storytelling sensibilities
  • Experience with fact checking
  • Demonstrated ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline
  • Experience working with sound design and scoring
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
