Job Title: Lecturer, GE Bookends (SEM)

Department: Student Academic Excellence Administration | Office of the Dean

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Senior Director and course coordinator, teach sections of General Education 1201 (Launch Seminar), General Education 2601.01 (Connection Seminar), or General Education 4001 (Reflection Seminar) including holding synchronous class sessions (face-to-face or online) or coordinating asynchronous class sessions as assigned; class prep, grading and response to student work; and student contact to support teaching and learning. Instructors participate in professional development and teaching support programming for GenEd 1201, GenEd 2601.01, and GenEd 4001 and may be asked to perform other duties relevant to teaching as requested.

Additional Information

Instructors may teach from 1 section per semester (15% FTE) up to 12 sections per semester (100% FTE).

Position is for one semester, and is renewable based on need, budget, and individual performance.

Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree, relevant college teaching experience, and evidence of teaching effectiveness required. Candidates should demonstrate efforts in teaching, research, and/or outreach that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.
