The Studio Merchandise Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and tracking of merchandise before and after photo shoots, ensuring accurate inventory records. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure the timely acquisition, organization, and return of merchandise and props. Additional responsibilities include generating shot lists and ensuring their accuracy based on merchandise received, shot and delivered.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience managing large product sample volumes in a studio or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of merchandising workflow from intake through post‑production delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with success managing and developing team members.
- Exceptional organizational and problem‑solving skills; ability to prioritize and pivot in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with creative, production, and client teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and merchandise tracking or database systems (e.g., Airtable, ShotFlow, or equivalent).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all reporting and tracking activities.
- Physically able to climb a ladder and lift 30 pounds.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandise management, production coordination, or studio operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Merchandising, Fashion, Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Previous experience in a photo studio, eCommerce, or omnichannel production environment.
- Familiarity with DAM systems and digital asset tracking.
- Knowledge of product development life cycles and sample management for apparel, accessories, and footwear.
- Understanding of styling, product photography, or post‑production workflows.
- Experience partnering with cross‑functional global teams or external brand partners.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements or workflow optimization initiatives.
- Ability to anticipate challenges, problem‑solve independently, and uphold production quality under pressure.
- Experience supporting ESG or circularity initiatives related to merchandise lifecycle management.
Compensation
