Position Summary
The Culinary Institute of America is looking for a creative, technically skilled Video Producer to lead the creation of video content that drives engagement, enrollment, and brand storytelling across all digital channels. From high‑impact event coverage and documentary‑style campus features to short‑form social content and student‑life spotlights, this role is at the core of our multimedia storytelling strategy.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manages overall video programming for the institute across digital and social media distribution channels including planning, scripting, storyboarding, budgeting, pre‑production, production, and post‑production.
- Produces, shoots, and edits video for a range of external and internal marketing projects, scheduling shoots with chefs, professors, and administration.
- Organizes, catalogs, and maintains the CIA’s video library and video archive assets, digitizing older analog materials.
- Oversees maintenance and upgrades to the Hyde Park video production facilities, coordinating repairs, equipment replacement, and upgrades.
- Manages freelance video resources and student workers when needed, performing performance evaluations of direct reports and supporting them with professional development guidance.
- Stays abreast of current technology and delivery formats across all mediums.
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in film & video, broadcasting, cinematography, or significant experience producing and editing video in a corporate or agency environment.
- Three years of formal experience in developing, producing, and editing video in a corporate or agency environment.
- Preferred: experience shooting active classroom kitchens, food ingredients, plated food, people, events, exterior landscapes, architecture, and documentary or narrative footage; graphic animation and typography experience a plus.
Required Skills
- Ability to storyboard and translate a creative vision into a presentable document.
- Command of current cameras and related video equipment and editing programs.
- Strong understanding of current digital and social media video environment across YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms.
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and cross‑platform Mac and PC dynamics.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, and the ability to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Must display a high level of energy, self‑motivation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with confidential material and/or high‑ranking individuals in the public eye.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed and maneuver around campus to shoot in various situations.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends as required.
- Able to travel periodically due to business needs.

Salary Range
Anticipated hiring range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00. Hiring offers will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
