A storm chaser conducts meteorological coverage of storms in the field. This information is vital for accurate weather forecasting and warnings.

 

Duties

  • Collect video using station authorized equipment and report live on the air current conditions. Relay to station Meteorologists storm activity, with details such as the severity and direction of a storm from the ground.
  • Monitor weather reports for expected severe conditions in the region.
  • Take video of severe weather for on-air and digital viewing.

Work Schedule

·         There are no fixed working hours due to the unpredictability of weather patterns. When directed by station Meteorologist or News management you will report to assigned area for coverage.
