Academy Camps is an overnight sports‑specific sleepaway experience that takes place on the campuses Blair Academy (NJ) and Suffield Academy (CT). We are looking for an experienced Sports Videographer to be a member of our media team to help tell our camp story and create content. This position is for our 2025 summer season and is available on both campuses.

Who We Are

Academy Camps is a modern approach to the sports camp experience. We offer 1‑week sessions for Boys & Girls aged 10 - 15 interested in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis & volleyball. Our campers choose one of our 8 "Academy Sports" and receive 2 intensive training sessions per day with our high‑performance coaching staff.

We are a dedicated team of high performance coaches, nurturing & exemplary counselors, and experienced camp professionals, passionate about the 'whole athlete'. Outside of sports specific training sessions, AC is distinguished in delivering programming focused on its pillars of Performance, Wellness, Mindset, and Leadership mixed in with a healthy dose of fun through a daily schedule of traditional sleepaway camp activities.

Position

As a member of the AC Team, the Videographer will be responsible for capturing daily video content in order to create highlight clips throughout all three summer sessions. The role involves capturing footage during our two Sports Training Sessions, our elective period, and the evening activity periods and editing footage throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture & create three different types of clips per session:
    • Daily Highlight Clips – 30-45 seconds highlighting the day’s programming.
    • Session Highlight Videos – 90-120 seconds taking the best moments for that 1‑week session.
    • Summer Highlight Video – 2-3 minutes from the 6 session highlight videos.
  • All video clips can be streamed and showcased to the full camp audience at mealtimes or at an end of camp event and posted to social media.
  • Prepare for, accept feedback, and constructively problem‑solve during supervision sessions.

Your Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Background in sports videography with high standards.
  • Drive to complete work efficiently to meet daily deadlines.
  • Ownership or access to professional‑grade video and editing equipment (preferred).
  • Self‑motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent relationship builder – quick to connect, build trust, and rapport.
  • Creative problem solver – proactive, anticipates problems, and asks for help when needed.
  • Growth mindset – orientation toward learning and development; willing to receive and implement feedback.

Expectations, Compensation, And Benefits

  • Available and on‑site for the full summer session including pre‑season training and post‑camp: June 22 – August 8.
  • Compensation for a full summer commitment is $3,000 – $5,000, competitive and commensurate with skills and experience. Includes room and board. Travel stipends provided.
  • Room and board included on‑site at campus with state‑of‑the‑art athletic facilities and highly rated dining services.
