Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician with Control4 certification(s) to join our amazing team. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about custom electronics and installation and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.

Job Type

Full‑time

Starting salary range $27.00 to $36.00 per hour depending on certifications.

Anticipated start date: October 27, 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming.
  • Communicate with the customer to review the work orders, answer customer questions professionally and properly.
  • Instruct and train the customer/end user on the system functions and operation.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements.
  • Completely understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, etc.).
  • Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis).
  • Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers.
  • Install and program shades and screens.
  • Terminate multimode fiber ends.
  • Calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound.
  • Resolve technical issues independently.
  • Perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience with security and/or Audio/Video installations.
  • Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV.
  • Active Control4 PCNA Certification through SnapAV (preferred).
  • Centralized Lighting Certification through SnapAV (preferred).
  • Lutron Lighting Certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios.
  • Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components.
  • Setup of networking requirements for routers, switches, DVRs, network components, WAPs, etc.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary customer service.
  • Work in a clean and unobtrusive manner.
  • Work independently and carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
  • Have or be willing to obtain basic tools.
  • Pass background check, drug screening, and clear MVR.
  • Technical or vocational related schooling (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear regularly.
  • Use step ladders and extension ladders frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Active construction sites.
  • Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and dust.
  • Moderate noise.
