Vital Design is hiring: Visual Designer in Portsmouth

We are seeking a talented Visual Designer with 1-2 years of web experience to join our creative team at Vital Design.

Location: Portsmouth, NH | Salary Range: $50k – $75k | Employment Type: Full-time | Experience Required: 1–2 years of visual design in a digital marketing agency or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to develop visually captivating design concepts for websites, digital ads, social media assets, and other digital marketing collateral.
• Apply user-centered design principles to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance user experience and drive conversions.
• Develop intuitive, high-fidelity product prototypes for stakeholder buy-in using an assortment of design tools.
• Ensure brand consistency across all design assets by adhering to brand guidelines and effectively communicating brand identity through visual elements.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide innovative design ideas and solutions that align with client objectives and project goals.
• Create responsive designs that adapt seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes, prioritizing functionality and aesthetic appeal.
• Stay informed about emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices in digital marketing and incorporate them into design strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

About the Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in visual design, preferably in a digital marketing agency or related industry.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of web design projects and digital marketing collateral.
• Solid understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design concepts and ideas effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and web design frameworks is a plus.
