Senior Audio Visual Systems Installation Technician

Responsibilities
- Perform or support senior installation staff on the highest level installation work.
- Lead junior installation staff on various common installation tasks.
- Absorb project details for all incoming projects and generate schematic diagrams and project plans.
- Understand project timelines and generate deliverables accordingly.
- Ensure all generated documents are coordinated with designers and programming team.
- Upload project documentation to project management tools and notify leadership team.
- Perform regular checks in the field to ensure compliance with build documents and quality standards.
- Redline build documents to reflect as‑built variation and perform final quality control.
- Perform a check in after project completion to promote constant improvement.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical schooling in AV specific field(s).
- At least four years of work experience in audio visual systems installation.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, soldering iron, crimpers, multimeters, signal generators, and testers.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot and assist with commissioning of AV systems.
- Skills comparable to one year interpreting and generating electronic schematics, architectural layouts and markups.
- Demonstrated skilled use of various industry standard computer applications for documentation generation and modification.
- Position requires the ability to drive a university vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering discipline.
- More than six years of work experience in audio visual systems installation.
- More than two years generating project documentation for complex AV systems at an enterprise level.
- OSHA 10+ hour course training.
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
- Crestron CTI certification.
- Biamp DSP training.
- Extron AV associate certification.
Driving Requirement
This job requires a class “C” operator’s driver’s license. The applicant must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Salary Range
$70,000+ depending on qualifications.
