We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
Client Opportunity
The client is looking for a .NET Developer to design, develop, test, implement and maintain solutions and features for applications in Microsoft .NET environment. The developer needs to provide reliable, responsive support and updates to these systems. This work requires a candidate with advanced developer skillsets and experience. The position may be working on new development, enhancements and/or providing support for existing applications.
The client has a large number of .NET custom applications and very high usage of GIS applications interfacing with other state agencies, other states, partners and the federal government. This includes Web Applications, API s, Batch, GIS custom applications and reporting technologies: ASP.NET, .NET Framework 4.x, MVC, Angular, C#, Power BI/SSRS, GIS (ArcGIS, AGOL, VertiGIS, etc.), Oracle, Javascript, Bootstrap, SharePoint, SFTP, Tableau, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps in the cloud, Batch and Web Applications.
Tasks
- Orienting self to current applications by reviewing code and working with others to understand the business needs.
- Identifying a solution/design working in collaboration with project team members.
- Coding programs and applications using standards and guidance for best coding and database practices, adhering to security requirements. This includes any integrations with other systems.
- Providing maintenance and support for applications including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Structuring code to meet standards for efficiencies and maintainability.
- Testing the applications by documenting scenarios and test results using approved tools and processes.
- Managing code and version control using Azure DevOps.
- Assisting with deploying the web-based applications, batch jobs and reports.
- Working on priority tasks and keeping tasks updated with current status in Azure DevOps. Providing input on estimates/timeline for tasks.
- Attending project stand up meetings and providing feedback on tasks.
- Implementation of user interface changes/bug fixes based on feedback from team, users and testers.
- Maintaining the backend Oracle database to support the needs of the applications.
- Creating clear and up to date documentation for the project s configuration and code base.
- Must enter timesheets weekly by deadlines.
- Must provide daily or weekly status reports as requested.

Contract and Location
Contract: 1+ years
Location: Madison, WI (hybrid)
Remote: 60% remote and 40% in the office, weekly on-site orientation.
Skills Required
- 8+ years - Advanced level application development skillsets including Analysis and Development within Microsoft .NET Framework.
- 8+ years - Coding experience in .NET framework with MVC including C#, VB.NET Javascript and Bootstrap.
- 6+ years - Experience applying accessibility and security standards to custom applications.
- 8 years - Experience applying Object Oriented Design.
- 8+ years - Experience developing applications with Oracle databases including experience writing stored procedures and SQL.
- 4+ years - Experience working in Azure DevOps including repositories, version control & deployments.
- 4+ years - Experience in SSRS/Power BI for developing reports.
- 6+ years - Experience creating web API s.
- 2 years - Experience coding applications in Angular.
- 8+ years - Experience working in Visual Studio.
- 8+ years - Experience following coding standards and best practices.
- 4 years - Experience with testing tasks such as identifying test scenarios, test data setup, execution, and documenting test results.
- 8 years - Experience utilizing the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and following IT Best Practices.
- 8 years - Experience resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
- 4 years - Experience following Iterative/Agile/Scrum Methodologies for completing projects from Initiation through Implementation and Maintenance.
- 8 years - Experience understanding defined requirements by identifying and implementing achievable solutions.
- 4+ years - Experience writing technical documentation.
- 8 years - Collaborates and shares information with others and is a team player to ensure project success and business needs are met.
- 6 years - Awareness of IT Infrastructure.
- 8 years - Awareness of Accessibility requirements and custom application design solutions or standards to comply.
- Bachelor s Degree.
Skills Desired A plus to have
- 1 year - Experience working in Government agency.
- 8+ years - Experience working with Microsoft Suite, including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
- 2+ years - Experience with GIS, especially Esri JavaScript APIs.
- Rate depends on experience.
- Local candidates preferred, not mandatory.
