The Department of English at Jacksonville State University invites applications for a tenure‑track position as an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing, with a specialization in Fiction and a secondary specialization in Creative Nonfiction, to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will help shape the department’s Creative Writing programs.

This faculty member will:

• Teach four courses per semester in creative writing, composition, and literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Conduct scholarly/creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement.
• Engage in appropriate department, school, and university service.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or MFA in Creative Writing, with an emphasis in fiction writing, required by August 2026. Preference may be given to candidates with a Ph.D. Ability to teach composition and evidence of good teaching and scholarly potential, including poetry publications, are also required.
