Job Summary: The Assistant Community Manager serves as the strength and support of the property by assisting the Community Manager in administering and supervising the overall management of the property. The role will include functions related to multi‑family property leasing, marketing, and resident relations.

Responsibilities

  • Use the approved lease and credit reporting application.
  • Process payments in accordance with company policy.
  • Track late payments and apply late charges.
  • Send late notices and inform the Property Manager.
  • Handle NSF/returned checks.
  • Follow up on delinquencies and conduct collections by the established close‑out date.
  • Process all evictions and proceed through the judicial system.
  • Complete final account statements.
  • Send all collection files to the appropriate agency within thirty (30) days of move‑out.
  • Assume the Property Manager’s duties/authority in the supervisor’s absence.
  • All functions related to multi‑family property leasing, marketing, and resident relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in multi‑family property management.
  • Preferred credentials: National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), Housing Quality Standards (HQS), Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS), LIHTC training.
  • Background in leasing, accounting, marketing, and customer service.
  • Supervisory skills sufficient to manage team members in the Community Manager’s absence.
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical skills required.
  • Proficiency in office equipment, property management software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA Requirements, EEOC Laws, and local ordinances.
