Job Description

Assists Design Consultant in scheduling, preparing, and following up with design services for Havertys customers. Attends client homes with Design Consultant to assure proper furniture placement and color coordination, recommends additional furniture and accessories for the room design. Assists with in-store engagements and in-store appointments. May involve sales training on the sales floor.

Specific Duties

• Schedule or attend qualified home visits. Position may require evening and weekend work.
• Visit customer homes with Design Consultant.
• Assist with all aspects of in-home visits.
• Help build a personalized presentation using approved templates and swagger display, including colors, furniture placement, visual samples, room plan, and accessories.
• Draw floor plans using Havertys.com floor planner software (if required).
• Provide feedback to Design Consultant, Sales Consultant, and Management after each visit and upon completion of floor plan and presentation.
• Assist Sales Consultant with creation of special-order SKUs and sales reserves.
• Assist Sales Consultant with floor plans for in-store clients to enhance visualization and support sales closing.
• Provide constructive feedback to help build the sale and increase average ticket.
• Maintain knowledge of special sales, financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, etc.
• Reinforce customer selections and help close the sale.
• Use My Sales Center to access and follow up with customers (if applicable).
• Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field, or 2 to 4 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination. ASID certification preferred.

Licenses

Current valid driver’s license with a clean record; reliable transportation with minimum state-required auto insurance.

Computer Skills

Proficiency with email, Room Planner software, Microsoft Office, internet browsing, and full-shot imaging tools.

Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle items, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift or move more than 20 pounds.
