Data Instruction and Outreach Librarian - Library
Position Overview: An associate librarian‑temporary full‑time appointment for two years with possibility of renewal for one additional year. Anticipated start as early as January 2025. Salary range $80,349‑$102,121.
Responsibilities
- Provide data instruction, consultations, workshops, and instructional content under guidance of Data Services Librarian.
- Develop scaffolded data instruction for novice users, including undergraduate students, and support licensed datasets and platforms.
- Collaborate with subject librarians to teach data literacy, ethics, analysis, and visualization.
- Engage with Research Data Management Program and campus partners to promote open research practices and workflows.
- Participate in library‑wide planning and governance and contribute to professional activities beyond primary assignment.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree or enrollment in an advanced degree program.
- Two years of experience providing reference and instructional services in an academic or professional setting.
- Master’s degree from an ALA‑accredited institution or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to library values and analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with Python, R, Jupyter, GitHub, and Unix Shell for computational research.
- Knowledge of data ethics, AI, data privacy, security, and bias.
