TEACHER SALARY

Starting salary $48,700 plus additional $7,730 yearly starting 25-26 school year. Teachers hired during the school year receive prorated supplement based on hire date.

Job Summary

Guides learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals in harmony with district philosophy. Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects and communicates them to students. Employs variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with location and needs of student groups. Strives to implement district educational goals.

Essential Functions
  1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
  2. Plans study program that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
  3. Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to maturity and interests of students.
  4. Supervises students to protect them from harmful conditions and ensures safety of students, equipment, materials, facilities.
  5. Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required. Maintains accurate records per law, district policy, regulation.
  6. Diagnoses learning disabilities of students regularly and seeks assistance of district specialists as required.
  7. Assists administration in implementing all policies governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable classroom behavior rules, maintains order fairly and justly, encourages students to set and maintain behavior standards.
  8. Primes availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
  9. Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) and, cooperative with department heads, evaluates their performance.
  10. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: None.

Certifications & Licenses: Eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.

  • Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
