Join to apply for the Pr. Nondestructive Test Engineer role at Raytheon. This position is based in Tewksbury, MA and is required to hold a U.S. security clearance (Secret). The role is part of the Materials & Process Engineering (M&PE) section within the Non-Destructive Testing Group, supporting Raytheon Missiles and Defense and Raytheon Company.
Responsibilities
- Perform non‑destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.
- Operate onsite inspection systems and audit suppliers for compliance.
- Develop unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and set‑ups in collaboration with engineers.
- Analyze and interpret results, communicate findings with engineering customers, and document on engineering reports.
- Manage a wide variety of tasks within schedule and budget requirements.
- Travel up to 50% to domestic and international locations as needed.
Qualifications – Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or 12+ years if no degree). Advanced degree may substitute additional experience.
- NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 certification (or equivalent) in multiple methods: Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic Particle, and Fluorescent Penetrant Testing.
- Experience using multiple NDT methods including Digital Radiography, Film Radiography, and Ultrasonic Testing (Contact/Immersion/CSAM).
Qualifications – Preferred
- Interpreting and developing NDT procedures and technique sheets.
- Strong background in Non‑Destructive Inspection of aerospace products: composites, castings, welds, braze joints, microcircuits, and computer card assemblies.
- NAS 410 Level 3 certification in advanced ultrasonic, radiographic, penetrant, and magnetic particle testing.
- Knowledge of MIL STD 883 & 750, JEDEC J-STD-035, IPC A 610, IPC J-STD-001 and failure analysis equipment.
- Excellent documentation, technical writing and communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to audit and perform quality control functions; work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits
Salary range: $101,000 – $203,000 USD.
