Job Description

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations to lead our brand strategy, communications, and public image. This leader will enhance the Y's visibility, strengthen community trust, and drive engagement across membership, programs, and philanthropy.

  • Office-based with occasional evenings / weekends for events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field.
  • 8–10 years in marketing / communications, with 3+ in senior leadership.
  • Proven expertise in brand strategy, media relations, and digital engagement.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and public speaking skills.
  • Nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Lead strategic marketing and brand initiatives that align with the Y's mission and values.
  • Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson, managing public and crisis communications.
  • Oversee digital strategy, content development, and marketing analytics.
  • Partner across departments to support fundraising, membership, and community impact goals.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing marketing team and manage external vendors.
