Adjunct Faculty - Music at Texas A&M University - Commerce Job Overview Teaching on a course‑by‑course basis throughout an academic year in Music department. Opportunities include on‑campus, off‑campus, or online instruction. Application requires upload of necessary documents through Texas A&M Online Employment Services. Responsibilities Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two courses) in Music disciplines such as instrumental or vocal studio, theory, ear‑training, history, world music, education, technology, general education, methods, or ensemble conducting. Develop and manage class syllabi that meet department and college standards. Plan and deliver lectures, in‑class discussions, and assignments. Assess student grades based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations. Assist and mentor students as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Music or a closely related field to teach undergraduate courses, or a terminal degree in Music or a closely related field to teach graduate courses. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Education / Skills / Experience Current relevant professional credentials. College or university teaching experience. Evidence of teaching excellence and/or successful performance experience. Prior relevant industry experience. Prior K‑12 music teaching experience, as dictated by specific classroom needs.
