This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching, research, and service.**Job Details**:The successful candidate will be able to teach first-year composition courses such as Introduction to College Writing and Reading (English 101) and Introduction to College Writing, Reading, and Research (English 102), as well as survey courses in early British literature and upper-division literature courses within the candidate’s primary field of expertise. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate students, results in publications and contributes to advancing the department, university, the profession, and society. Participation in various service activities within the department and broader university community is also expected.**Responsibilities**:Full-Time teaching responsibilities include a 4/4 load, which in any given semester is expected to consist of at least two sections of first-year writing and as many as two sections of courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Research expectations include peer-reviewed publications and other creative activity relevant to the discipline. In addition, faculty members serve as advisors/mentors to students and are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research or other scholarly and creative activities. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental, college, and university levels as well as participation in community organizations and the discipline as relevant to the candidate’s expertise and interest. All students, faculty, and staff are required to ensure their materials are digitally accessible and utilize standard technology platforms supported by UW-Whitewater. Examples include, but are not limited to, Navigate, Canvas, and Microsoft Office applications – including Outlook, which is essential for university email communications and scheduling.**Department Information**:The UW-Whitewater Department of Literature, Writing, and Film is one of fifteen departments in the College of Letters and Sciences.
