Planner/Designer (All Levels - Entry to Senior) Land Planning Firm actively seeking new Land Planners to join our thriving team.

Our Planner role is a position for an individual with specialized training in Land Planning or a related field. One to five years of prior land planning experience is preferred. The Planner will assist in a wide variety of activities associated with land planning and design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work directly with Senior Planner/Designer to develop land plans for a variety of developments, including High Density Residential, Master Plan Communities, Infill developments, Commercial and Multi Family Site plans.

Prepare base maps and Opportunities & Constraints exhibits.

Prepare exhibits for clients to present design.

Work with GIS and/or AutoCAD to make revisions to land plans and plats and/or to gather data, as needed.

Regular communication and coordination with clients on active and/or future projects.

Work within defined project scopes, budgets, and schedules.

Some travel may be required to attend meetings or conduct site visits.

May be required to attend after-hours meetings/events.

Other duties of a similar nature and level may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Job Qualifications Required

Excellent research, problem solving, time management, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Understanding and general knowledge of zoning regulations and approval processes.

Understanding and general knowledge of design principles.

Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Comfortable working within a team environment, as well as being productive independently with limited supervision.

Take initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team in a fast paced and detail-oriented office environment.

Preferred

Experienced in making presentations to clients/consultants.

Understanding and general knowledge of the land planning process.

Experience in reviewing plans for compliance with applicable jurisdictional regulations.

Experience with client coordination and communication.

Basic working knowledge of ArcGIS.

Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Urban Design/Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or similar is preferred. Degree can be substituted by equivalent transferrable experience in land planning, and/or land design. One to five years of experience in a similar field is preferred.
