Microbiome Alliance for Disease Prevention (MADP) is a U.S.–based 501(c)(3) national public‑health nonprofit dedicated to advancing the early detection and prevention of chronic disease. By expanding access to precision medicine and preventive care, MADP is breaking down barriers and building healthier communities nationwide.
Through education, digital outreach, and advocacy, MADP supports patients, providers, and communities with accessible education and resources that promote smarter prevention, earlier detection, and improved long‑term health outcomes.
POSITION SUMMARY
MADP seeks an experienced Digital Health Outreach & Communications Specialist to lead and implement our national digital outreach strategy for patients, healthcare providers, and community health outreach. This key role oversees MADP’s digital health outreach and communications ecosystem—including social media, web presence, multimedia production, webinars, podcasts, and email campaigns—to advance public‑health outreach and supportive resources to targeted audiences.
The candidate must be highly proficient in digital outreach analytics and management software, with the ability to track, measure, and interpret outreach engagement metrics across multiple platforms to guide public‑health outreach and impact.
This position is remote, contractual, and flexible, with scheduled in‑person meetings. Candidates must be located within the Richmond, Virginia area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a comprehensive national health outreach strategy that aligns with MADP’s strategic goals, brand identity, and public‑health mission.
Design, manage, and optimize content across all major digital platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others), ensuring tailored, high‑impact messaging for key audiences including: young adults (18–44) as part of MADP’s Young‑Onset Colorectal Cancer Advocacy Initiative – "Know the Symptoms—Your Voice Can Be Lifesaving"; patient and community groups, advancing education and supportive resources for early detection and prevention; healthcare providers and systems, increasing awareness of advanced precision medicine testing, early‑detection resources, and MADP’s Food as Medicine Program for patients; underserved populations, using digital tools to reach them efficiently; clinical health partners and nonprofits, amplifying MADP’s prevention and education programs through collaborative outreach.
Lead production of professional multimedia content—including educational videos, webinars, and podcasts—featuring clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates. Oversee pre‑ and post‑production processes, script development, editing, and distribution across digital platforms.
Strengthen and leverage partnerships with healthcare organizations, research institutions, and advocacy groups to broaden MADP’s national reach through coordinated digital health initiatives and resource sharing.
Monitor and analyze health outreach performance metrics using advanced data analytics tools. Prepare data‑driven outcome reports and insights that inform continuous improvement and measurable public‑health outreach and impact.
Ensure brand and message integrity across all communications, maintaining a consistent, professional voice aligned with MADP’s mission and regulatory standards.
Manage content calendars, optimize SEO/SEM strategies, and ensure digital accessibility compliance (ADA/WCAG).
Stay current on emerging digital trends, platforms, and analytics tools to enhance outreach effectiveness and maximize impact with limited resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, digital media, marketing, journalism, or a closely related field in healthcare.
Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience leading digital outreach and communications, preferably in healthcare, life science, nonprofit, or public‑health organizations.
Strategic Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated digital outreach campaigns that measurably increase visibility, engagement, and impact across multiple channels.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in digital analytics and outreach management tools; advanced skill with content‑management and analytics platforms (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, HubSpot); experience with creative and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, video editing software); familiarity with email automation, CRM tools, and digital advertising platforms.
Multimedia Production: Proven track record producing and editing professional video, webinar, and podcast content in a health, science, or clinical education context.
Analytic Capability: Ability to collect, interpret, and present digital‑performance data using metrics dashboards and KPI reports to inform strategic decisions.
Writing and Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex medical or scientific information into engaging, accessible public‑health content.
Leadership and Collaboration: Self‑directed professional with strong project management, organizational, and cross‑functional communication skills; able to collaborate with clinicians, researchers, board members, and external partners.
