Who You Are Prowess Consulting is looking for a Junior Event Planner to support an industry-leading Seattle-area enterprise client’s interoperability compliance program. This is an exciting opportunity to put your event planning skills to work by helping support plan for in‑person and hybrid events for customers, partners, and end users.

This is a full‑time role with Prowess Consulting. To be considered for this role, you must reside in the greater Seattle area, and you must be willing and able to work in our client’s Redmond‑based offices once a week or as needed. International travel may be required to support events in person. No third‑party agencies, please.

The Role and Responsibilities

Define and drive fiscal year event strategy for interoperability event programs, which provide a collaborative environment for developers to build interoperable solutions

Ensure interoperability event initiatives align with broader organization and company objectives around compliance and interoperability

Identify trends and risks per Support insights and metrics and event customer engagements

Internal and external stakeholder engagement: Establish connections and trust and collaborate with key internal and external partners.

Create event reports and communications (pre and post event):

Update and present slides for monthly and quarterly syncs with corporate vice presidents (CVPs) (senior leadership team [SLT] and stakeholder reports)

Develop and coordinate end‑of‑event reports that contain event images, a wrap‑up of activities, issues encountered, sessions delivered, etc.

Participate in weekly/bi‑weekly syncs with event stakeholders and Support; regular syncs with budget champion and other primary teams

Collaborate closely and maintain regular communication with regional subsidiaries (mainly across Asia and Africa) to ensure efficient and successful execution of event and project objectives

Lead both onsite and virtual events by driving communications (internal and customer‑facing) and all logistics (registration, food and beverage, printing, pre‑event, day of, and post‑event activities, etc.)

Manage event timelines, agendas, and schedules

Manage facility coordination (room reservations, communications, confirmations, etc.)

Manage speaker, attendee, and stakeholder coordination, communication, and deliverables

Manage event registration and related reporting

Manage event budgets and related reporting

During events, manage attendees (internal and external), meeting space, registrations, meals, materials, giveaways, etc.

Coordinate and update attendee‑facing materials (invitations, logos, surveys, registration forms, PowerPoint templates, etc.)

Develop event SharePoint sites and Teams channels to inform internal and external groups

Lead the creation and development of content and talk track for a director‑level keynote session

Manage public event website and all content in GitHub (videos, slides, etc.)

Manage internal SharePoint site and keep it organized and maintained with the latest event information (workbacks, agendas, presentations, reports, etc.)

Qualifications

At least one (1) and no more than four (4) years’ experience helping to plan corporate events

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Must be comfortable communicating directly with corp or exec level VPs

Be comfortable with ambiguous requirements in a fast‑paced environment – taking ownership of event details and logistics and responding to last minute requests

Ability to understand basic technical concepts to effectively communicate with broader team, to author relevant and interesting external communications

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including SharePoint and Excel

Proficient in developing public, customer facing, written communications as well as professional communication to various levels of management relating to event activities

Strong coordination and collaboration skills with fundamental project management comprehension

Highly organized

Attention to detail and follow‑though. Fast reaction to immediate issues with quick escalation and clear communication.

Additional Details

The pay range offered for this position is $75,000 – 92,000 per year.
