Together, we co-create moments that matter both for our audiences and our employees and aim to leave a positive mark on culture. **Overview and Responsibilities:** CBS Newspath is seeking an Associate Producer with a strong commitment to journalism to coordinate news production and newsgathering operations for its overnight Desk team! The ideal candidate must have experience in working with sources to confirm and verify facts and video elements, especially during breaking news. Additionally, the Associate Producer must be familiar with all major social media platforms and vehicles for engaging audiences on a digital level. This includes - but is not limited to - Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube. You must be well-versed in the feel and best practices for social-friendly videos (including rights & clearances). In addition, excellent people/customer service skills are required. The position includes overnight and weekend responsibilities as well. **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
- Manage the network's response to breaking news and responds to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates and clients.
- Clip and publish Newspath video and scripts and assisting in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video and correspondent packages.
- Gather the elements producers need to put together packages and vo/sots for the biggest stories of the day
- Spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for our brand
- 3+ years local and/or network TV news experience or show producer experience preferred.
- Strong editorial judgement & excellent writing skills required.
- Strong editing skills a must. Avid preferable.
- A focus on multi-media content is required.
- Requires highly developed relationship building skills.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment is essential.
- Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology.
- Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships a plus.
- Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $62,000.00 - 66,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
