Advertising Sales & Operations Coordinator

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Advertising Sales & Operations Coordinator to help us grow and manage our advertising revenue across newsletters, web and podcasts. This is a remote, part-time or full-time role with room to grow as our business expands.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect, pitch and close new advertising and sponsorship opportunities across email, web and podcasts.
  • Maintain relationships with existing advertisers, ensuring renewals and upsells.
  • Develop and deliver media kits, proposals, and campaign summaries.
  • Manage ad inventory and scheduling across multiple weekly newsletters and digital placements.
  • Ensure that ad copy, logos and creative assets are collected and published accurately and on time.
  • Implement a simple tracking system (Airtable, HubSpot, or similar) to log placements, campaigns and performance.

Revenue Operations

  • Help refine pricing, packaging and ad options for digital and audio sponsorships.
  • Support basic reporting — tracking revenue, campaign performance and fulfillment accuracy.
  • Coordinate with editorial and design teams on placement logistics and timing.

Podcast & New Products

  • Collaborate on sponsorship structures and inventory for podcast(s) to be released at a future date.
  • Assist with outreach and sales for early podcast advertisers and cross-channel sponsorships.

Who You Are

  • A self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple client relationships and deadlines.
  • Experienced (or eager to learn) in digital media advertising, sales, or account management.
  • Tech-savvy — comfortable using spreadsheets, CRMs, or lightweight project management tools.
  • Enthusiastic about urban development, real estate, and local journalism.
  • Willing to be nimble and adjust to a remote work environment in a small company.

Bonus points if you have experience selling newsletter, podcast, or digital ad inventory.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $50,000–$55,000 (depending on experience)
  • Commission: 15% of new ad and sponsorship revenue closed
  • Renewal bonus: 7.5% for repeat or upsold campaigns
  • Annual bonus: Up to $2,000 for strong fulfillment performance and client satisfaction

Expected total annual compensation (base + commission + bonuses): $55,000–$75,000+ depending on performance.
