Position Overview We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Newsletter and Integrated Media Advertising Account Executive to drive advertising revenue across our newsletter network primarily, but also bundled with podcasts and other content platforms and channels. This role combines new business development with account management, requiring someone who can build relationships, think strategically, and execute flawlessly in a fast-paced media environment. This position requires a candidate with deep experience and an established network of current relationships that can be leveraged immediately to drive revenue growth. New Business Development Identify and prospect potential advertising partners aligned with our highly engaged, educated audience Develop comprehensive media proposals showcasing our newsletter network and bundled advertising opportunities across podcasts and other channels, and close deals for each product and across integrated channels Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline Attend industry events and conferences to generate new business opportunities Account Management Serve as primary point of contact for existing advertising clients Develop strategic, multi-platform advertising campaigns that deliver results Monitor campaign performance and provide detailed reporting and optimization recommendations in partnership with ad ops team Ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for account growth and renewal Integrated Media Solutions Create custom advertising packages focusing on our newsletter network, with bundled opportunities across podcasts, live events, and digital content Collaborate with editorial & production teams to develop native advertising opportunities Coordinate with our events team on sponsorship opportunities for live debates and special programming Key Performance Indicators Revenue Targets: Achievement of quarterly and annual revenue goals New Business Development: Percentage of revenue from new client acquisition Client Retention Rate: Maintaining and growing existing advertiser relationships Pipeline Management: Consistent development of qualified prospect pipeline Campaign Performance: Advertiser satisfaction and campaign renewal rates Qualifications - Required 5+ years of deep experience in digital media sales, with strong focus on newsletter/subscription-based media Established network of current, relevant relationships with brands, agencies, and media buyers Proven track record of leveraging existing relationships to drive significant revenue Demonstrated ability to activate professional network for new business development Qualifications - Preferred Experience with Substack or similar newsletter platforms Background in podcast advertising sales Knowledge of the independent media landscape Experience with event sponsorships and integrated marketing campaigns Track record in political, news, or opinion media advertising What We Offer Competitive base salary of $125-150K plus uncapped commission structure Health, dental, and vision insurance Opportunity to help build and scale a rapidly growing media company Work alongside a team committed to independent, fearless journalism Flexible work environment with offices in NYC, DC, plus hybrid/remote options Our Values At The Free Press, we hold ourselves to a consistent set of values that guide our coverage, our behavior, and our treatment of others.
